Scripture for Today
Luke 6:46 (NIV):
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”
Luke 6:46 (NLT):
“So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?”
Devotional Thought
Monday brings a fresh test of lordship. Not in what you claim, but in what you choose.
Convenience is persuasive. It whispers, “Do what is easiest.” Obedience says, “Do what honors Christ.”
Many men want peace without obedience. But peace grows when a man submits his life to the Lord in real decisions. How he speaks. How he works. How he treats people. What he watches. What he hides. What he refuses.
This morning, do not start the week with good intentions only. Start with surrendered obedience.
Ask yourself this morning. Where am I tempted to take the easy path today? What has Jesus already made clear that I need to do? What would obedience look like before pressure arrives?
Christ is not only Savior. He is Lord.
Questions to Consider
- Where am I tempted to take the easy path today?
- What has Jesus already made clear that I need to do?
- What would obedience look like before pressure arrives?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me honor Jesus as Lord today. Give me courage to obey when convenience pulls me toward compromise. Strengthen my heart to follow Your Word in my decisions, my speech, and my private life. Make my obedience sincere and my faith steady. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Encouragement for Today
You are not obeying to earn love. In Christ, you are already loved, forgiven, and secure. Now obey from grace.
