Scripture for This Morning
Proverbs 16:32 (NIV):

Proverbs 16:32 (NLT):
“Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.”
Devotional Thought
The world measures strength by dominance. God measures strength by self-control.
It takes little discipline to overpower others. It takes deep character to govern your own temper, reactions, and impulses.
A man who controls his spirit does not excuse anger as personality. He does not justify impatience as stress. He understands that inward victory is greater than visible success.
Today you will be tested. Not in battle, but in attitude. Not in conquest, but in restraint. Strength begins within.
Questions to Consider
- Where am I most likely to lose patience today?
- What situations trigger reaction rather than control?
- Will I treat self-control as true strength?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, teach me to govern my spirit today. Guard me from impatience and impulsive reactions. Strengthen me to walk in self-control that honors You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Encouragement for This Morning
True strength is not loud. It is steady, restrained, and shaped by the Spirit of God.
