Devotional Thought
Paul’s words are not casual. They are urgent.
The gospel is not a preference. It is a deposit. It has been entrusted.
To guard something is to treat it as valuable. It is to protect it from distortion, dilution, and distraction.
A man who guards what has been entrusted to him does not treat truth lightly. He does not reshape it to fit culture. He does not soften it to gain approval.
He knows the gospel is not his to edit. It is his to preserve.
Guarding the message begins in the heart before it shows in the mouth.
Questions to Consider
- Do I treat the gospel as something sacred or something familiar?
- Where am I tempted to soften truth to avoid discomfort?
- Am I actively guarding what has been entrusted to me?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me guard the gospel faithfully. Protect my heart from compromise and my mind from distortion. Teach me to treasure and preserve the truth You have entrusted to me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Encouragement for This Morning
You have been entrusted with truth that saves. Guard it with reverence and courage.
