Scripture for Tonight
Philippians 2:15–16 (NIV):
“Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.”
Devotional Thought
Paul connects witness with firmness. Shining is not about brightness of personality. It is about steadfastness in truth.
To hold firmly is to cling. To grip tightly. To refuse release when pressure comes.
A man who guards the gospel does not treat truth loosely. He holds it carefully and confidently. He understands that light shines brightest where truth is clearest.
The world does not need an edited message. It needs the Word of life held firmly.
Tonight, examine your grip.
Questions to Consider
- Am I holding firmly to the Word or loosely adjusting it?
- Where do I feel pressure to soften truth?
- Does my life reflect confidence in the gospel’s power?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me hold firmly to the Word of life. Strengthen my grip on the gospel when pressure comes. Let my life shine because I refuse to release what You have revealed. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Encouragement for Tonight
The light of the gospel does not dim when it is held firmly. Stand steady. Truth shines through faithful men.
