Luke 12:35 (NLT):
“Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning.”

Devotional Thought

Sunday evening is not the end of worship. It is the handoff into the week.

Jesus calls His men to keep their lamps burning. That means you do not live on Sunday fuel alone. You carry the light of Christ into Monday. You guard your heart from spiritual laziness and keep a readiness to obey.

A man keeps his lamp lit through simple faithfulness. Prayer before the day begins. Scripture that renews the mind. Quick repentance when sin shows up. Wise boundaries that protect purity. A steady tone that blesses those closest.

Tonight, choose one practice that will keep your lamp burning this week. Not a fantasy plan, a real one.

Ask yourself this evening. What tends to put my lamp out during the week? What do I need to remove so I can stay spiritually alert? What is one faithful step I will take tomorrow?

God strengthens men who stay ready.

Questions to Consider

  • What tends to put my lamp out during the week?
  • What do I need to remove so I can stay spiritually alert?
  • What is one faithful step I will take tomorrow?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, keep my lamp burning. Strengthen my walk with You and guard my heart from drift. Help me stay ready to obey and quick to repent. Give me a steady spirit for the week ahead so my life reflects Christ in every place You send me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Encouragement for Tonight

You are not trying to keep yourself saved. In Christ, you are secure. Now walk in the light of His strength and grace.

    Welcome to The Daily Watch

The Daily Watch is a collection of brief, Scripture-centered morning and evening devotionals designed to help believers begin and end each day grounded in the Word of God. These reflections are written to encourage watchfulness, prayerful reflection, and steady obedience in the ordinary rhythms of life.

Each devotional is intentionally concise, focusing on Scripture, not sentiment, and pointing our hearts toward faithful living before the Lord. Whether read in the quiet of the morning or at the close of the day, The Daily Watch exists to help God’s people pause, reflect, and walk attentively with Christ.
