Scripture for Today
Proverbs 19:21 (NIV):
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.”
Proverbs 19:21 (NLT):
“You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail.”
Devotional Thought
A man can wake up with a full mind and a full calendar. Plans. Goals. Tasks. Pressures. And without noticing, the schedule becomes the shepherd.
But Scripture reminds us that God’s purpose prevails. That does not mean planning is wrong. It means planning must be submitted.
A man nurtures peace in his life when he lets God set priorities. He stops being driven by urgency. He becomes guided by purpose. He learns to say no without guilt and yes without resentment.
This morning, place your plans under the Lord’s rule. Ask Him what matters most today. Ask Him who needs your attention. Ask Him what needs obedience more than efficiency.
Ask yourself this morning. What is driving me more than God’s purpose? Where do I need to adjust my priorities, not just my schedule? What would faithfulness look like in today’s decisions?
God does not waste your day. He uses it to shape you.
Questions to Consider
- What is driving me more than God’s purpose?
- Where do I need to adjust my priorities, not just my schedule?
- What would faithfulness look like in today’s decisions?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I submit my plans to You today. Align my priorities with Your purpose. Give me wisdom to choose what matters most and courage to obey You in the details. Guard me from being driven by urgency and make me steady in Christ. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Encouragement for Today
You are not ruled by your calendar. In Christ, you are secure, loved, and guided by a faithful Father.
