Devotional Snapshot

Series:
The Daily Watch – Men’s Grace-Filled Devotionals
Focus:
Refusing anger’s control and releasing bitterness before tomorrow.
Scripture:
Ephesians 4:26 (NIV, NLT)

Scripture for Tonight

Ephesians 4:26 (NIV):
“In your anger do not sin.”
“Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.”

Ephesians 4:26 (NLT):
“And don’t sin by letting anger control you.”

Devotional Thought

Anger is not always loud. Sometimes it is silent. A cold shoulder. A short response. A mind replaying the offense.

Scripture does not pretend men never feel anger. It commands what to do with it.

Anger becomes sin when it controls you. When it drives your words. When it fuels bitterness. When it hardens your heart. When it gives the enemy a foothold.

Tonight, refuse to carry anger into tomorrow. That does not mean every conflict is solved before bed. It means you release vengeance. It means you surrender your right to stay heated. It means you choose forgiveness and wisdom, even if the conversation must continue later.

Ask yourself this evening. What am I still holding onto? Where has anger started to shape my tone or my thoughts? What step of humility do I need to take tonight?

God gives grace to men who release the grip.

Questions to Consider

  • What am I still holding onto?
  • Where has anger started to shape my tone or my thoughts?
  • What step of humility do I need to take tonight?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, search my heart tonight. Reveal where anger has taken root in me. Help me release bitterness and refuse to let anger control my words or actions. Give me humility to forgive and wisdom to address conflict in a way that honors Christ. Fill me with peace as I rest tonight. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Encouragement for Tonight

You are not controlled by the flesh. In Christ, you are empowered by the Spirit, forgiven by grace, and secure in God’s love.

    Welcome to The Daily Watch

The Daily Watch is a collection of brief, Scripture-centered morning and evening devotionals designed to help believers begin and end each day grounded in the Word of God. These reflections are written to encourage watchfulness, prayerful reflection, and steady obedience in the ordinary rhythms of life.

Each devotional is intentionally concise, focusing on Scripture, not sentiment, and pointing our hearts toward faithful living before the Lord. Whether read in the quiet of the morning or at the close of the day, The Daily Watch exists to help God’s people pause, reflect, and walk attentively with Christ.
