Devotional Thought
Friday brings pressure to ease up. To slide. To take the shortcut. To let your guard down because the week is almost over.
But Scripture calls you to stand firm. Standing firm is not loud. It is consistent.
A man stands firm when it costs him. When truth is inconvenient. When temptation is available. When the easiest thing is to blend in.
Courage is not reckless confidence. It is obedience in the face of pressure.
This morning, be on guard. Pay attention to what is pulling your heart. Notice where your mind is drifting. Hold your ground in Christ.
Ask yourself this morning: Where am I most tempted to compromise today? What would it look like to stand firm before the pressure arrives?
God strengthens men who stay on guard.
Questions to Consider
- Where am I most tempted to compromise today?
- What would it look like to stand firm before the pressure arrives?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, make me alert and steady today. Help me stand firm in the faith and be courageous when it costs me. Guard my heart from compromise and my mind from drift. Strengthen me to obey Christ with integrity and joy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Encouragement for Today
You are not standing firm in your own strength. In Christ, you are empowered and secure. God will strengthen you to endure.
